Students are selected to participate in small group literacy instruction based on academic assessment data, Response to Intervention (RTI) meetings, and recommendations from their classroom teacher. Children meet in small groups of 2-4 with a member of the Title I staff. Lessons are specifically designed to meet the needs of the students. Most groups meet for 30 minutes a day, 4-5 times a week. Title I interventionists work directly with classroom teachers and literacy specialists to discuss the effectiveness of their instruction and to ensure they are meeting the students’ needs.
Parents are always welcome to visit or contact their child’s instructor with questions and concerns.
